A compact but powerful CNC machine

RX7 CNC tool and cutter grinder is a compact tool manufacturing machine. Don't be deceived by its small foot print as it has the power, strength and working envelope usually attributed to a much larger machine. The objective of the ANCA RX7 design team was to develop a machine which matches and exceeds today's demand in CNC Tool Grinding:

Unique mechanical concept and axes configuration provides high machine rigidity which is required for grinding from solid, but at the same time ensures easy operator access and high level ergonomics.

Strength and Versatility

The single direct drive bi-directional spindle with dual.
wheel packs positioned at either end of the spindle gives complete unrestricted access to the work piece.

All axes saddles are made from a single piece casting resulting in extreme rigidity. The grinding spindle is also mounted on a single piece casting which ensures machine overall robustness.

The mechanical design features of the RX7 are further complemented by the ANCA SDX CNC, ANCA Digital Servo Drives and ANCA ToolRoom@ software suite. ANCA offers application software for a variety of
end mills, step tools, drills, burrs and many other special applications.

You wouldn't expect anything else from ANCA but a machine that performs to the highest standards. The RX7 uses proven ANCA mechanical design principles. The RX7 was designed using the latest Unigraphics NX solid modeling software making full use of its FEA capabilities, resulting in the most robust machine design possible.

Designed with the operator in mind

The RX7 has been ergonomically designed to make it comfortable to use. Access to the headstock work holding area is effortless as the axis moves within close proximity of the operator access door. The machine size is compact, and the position of the wheel spindle barely classifies as a 'reach' when changing wheel packs and coolant manifolds.

Polymer concrete base

ANCA has been manufacturing machines with a polymer concrete base since 1991. Naturally, the RX7 is built on this type of base. Polymer concrete provides better dampening of any vibrations and significantly contributes to the machine rigidity.

Options that make your machine even more useful

There are numerous options available with the RX7, giving it the flexibility to suit most applications. These include popup steady, iView tool measuring system and a range of pneumatically controlled tool clamping systems. To really enhance the RX7's production capabilities it can be supplied with an autoloader.

Additional software used in conjunction with the autoloader makes the RX7 capable of grinding a batch of tools that are entirely different in size, shape and type.

With the automatic tool measuring and probing cycles all you have to do is identify the type of tool and its position in the loader and the machine will do the rest.
